Whats the difference between a PQ 3 and a PQ4?

The PQ-3 is a 3band parametric, whereas the PQ-4 is a 4band Parametric. I have heard both sound great, but i have no personal experience using the PQ-4 though! Im pretty sure the PQ-4's started rising in price since all the Dimebag fanboys started buying them up!

Yes ya nut. I even PM'd ya. :aww: :D I love my tone but wish I could get the "feel" I had with the Mk IV. Now with my humbucker loaded guitars there really isn't to much of an issue but my Strat just isn't as fun to play with the Vintage Modern. Plus a more aggressive tone from time to time would be nice. Yes your clips sound great.

DOH! Well, you'll have to excuse me, I've had two hellish weeks in a row, this one being hell because I'm sick as a dog.

You don't like the strat with the VM?

Those sound great Bob!! What exactly did Doug do to the amp? any mods?

Hi Dan,

He tuned it up, brought one item that was out of spec stock back into spec, and he did a little thingie to make the mids crunch more.

Well let me explain... If I were going for Hendrix tone or Led Zep tone this amp does that with no problem out of the box. To get into the 80's metal/shred stuff it requires an overdrive pedal. Tone wise it excels here. Feel wise... with a hot humbucker I'm pretty much set though it still doesn't quite have the liquidy lead feel of the Mk IV. With the Strat it's a bit more noticable. Don't misunderstand. The VM is by no means a stiff amp to play through, I just miss the feel of the Mk IV but I love the tone of the Vintage Modern. So now I have the task of getting the feel I like without messing up the beautiful tone the MV.
