The first Kemper I bought had one of the buttons stuck in the "down" position, making it useless. I had to send it back for a replacement. The second one has worked fine since I received it.

Fact is its the only video on the net showing the inner build quality of both units. And I expect that people can decide for themselves what to think of this video. BTW there where other video's from TM but he was forced to remove them because of lawsuit threads from FAS.

Dude, I had to search throughout the forum - found several users with the main problem (Axe-Edit sysex dumping) and there were no clear, definitive remedies to take. My fix was found on an unrelated site.
As for the value knob, ya, it's shitty that this thing doesn't work and if it's an "encoder" that needs breaking in, I suppose I can live with that. But seeing as the latest firmware upgrade doesn't mesh well with Axe-Edit, I'm forced to use the chassis controls - and they're not working properly. My concern is that in viewing a lot of the error posts, there's rarely - if ever - a concise solution given; it's always a problem on MY side of the fence. Which I find a bit weird - as a couple people actually PM'd me over there and mentioned they'd tried to get answers as well, but the threads were edited/deleted. So OBVIOUSLY I have to tread lightly.
Dude, who the hell are you and why you coming on to my lawn to take a cheap shot??![]()
If you knew me, you'd know damn straight that's not my style. So chill TFO.

I will state something of a "dependability" matter experienced only in the last 24 hours.
I ended up upgrading to v.8.01 FW with the Axe-II. I ended up having that same ol' sysex dumping issue prevent me from using Axe-Edit, and the box itself. I did the usual "ask the forum" AFTER knowing I'd be directed to "search the forum" for some form of resolve. All the usual answers came out - it's your macbook pro - it's not a problem with Axe or Edit - it's a USB issue with your motherboard - yada yada yada. After spending only a while on the board, the overall cultism of the usual members and their blind praise and devotion to all things FAS becomes quite concerning to a lucid and sane individual as myself.
I would say this is a concern for anyone pondering the Axe versus the Kemper. If you're going to go Axe, expect to have to immerse yourself in amongst many kool-aid drinking fanatics when trying to get actual factual information. It's just the way it is.
And for the record, my value knob on the Axe-II has never been perfectly accurate - it doesn't "grab" immediately, it always needs to be rifled quickly left or right before grabbing value changes - only to then go back slowly one click at a time to get to the value wanted.
That's it.
And for the record, I found the sysex dump error remedy on a completely unrelated forum. Imagine.

PS: And for the record, the last bit of direction I was given was a "statement" stating that the "current version of Axe-Edit" doesn't work with anything past v.7 of the firmware. Yet, this is not considered a problem or issue.![]()
