My guess is stone cold sober Ed was a better guitarist than when he was trashed.

I feel this way about Dave Mustaine and James Hetfield, as well

Or at least that's what I tell myself because their music hasn't been very good for a very long time

There was some praise on TGP so I gave it 1 solid minute.
OUCH.
Solo sounded lifeless because no one remembered what his setting were using the voltage thing a ma jig.
I was hoping that A.I. tone killer video didnt make it to Rig talk .... We're a Buncha tone scholar's that wont be fool when Ed told a magazine "I dial it in at 140volts.:bash:

For AI it did a pretty good job and it opened the box a little on the lead giving it more variety compared to the usual solos he played in that era. I thought it was pretty cool.. and scary how easy it is to do now. Good bye songwriting credits when you can just rework an AI song.

A.I., like everything these days, is a shortcut to hard work, integrity, creativity, etc. Someone sits for hours painting an amazing piece of art and then A.I. creates a nearly identical painting based on the random nature of the painting, etc. Who cares what is looks like when no effort was put into it?

It just drives me nuts. Everything can be done in minutes. Is it making people feel better? He'll no. It is making everyone want their food in 15 seconds, wants cars to go to the destination in 5 minutes, etc. Everyone is getting more anxious and bent out of shape over dumb shit.

The whole world is becoming dumber by the minute. When I am out somewhere amd see a person just sitting on a bench reading or looking at a lake, it is like they have the right idea. Just shutting out this crap, lol.
