Plays just like a Charvel Custom Shop Pointy to me, except for the crazy deep neck joint - lucky for me I have long fingers or it would be tough to reach the last few frets comfortably. I have a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge and a Dimarzio "Humbucker from Hell" in the neck. I came on this combination with my Charvel Custom Shop "Fat Checkers" guitar and I really dig the tones from this combination of pickups. Was just crankin' this thing through the Henning amp and the guitar sounds gainy and articulate in either neck or bridge. I've kinda re-discovered the Super Distortion - great pickup that I think gets a bit of a bad rap. You can get great Van Halen tones and beyond with the right amp. Nice sustain-y, full neck pickup sound with the HFH, which sounds great for harmonic minor and diminished arpeggios...MichaelG":2z9f9qbe said:Looks great Steve. How does it sound/play?

I used Spray Max 2K Primer and Clear. z-Poxy to seal the grain and white automotive paint that I had mixed for me. But, remember, the whole top of the headstock, stripes and everything is a decal. It cam in a big size, I positioned it how I wanted it, cut it to shape and then did the clear coats, wet sanding, rubbing compound and swirl remover. You'd never know it wasn't real paint. My original plan was to paint it, but I decided to go with the decal because it was too difficult. I could have gotten by with just the z-Poxy, primer and clear really given I used the decal. The body is all real paint by Marty Bell...Vrad":2uipz5st said:Looks awesome Steve. I'm always hesitant about the Jackson/Charvel headstock from warmoth. It always looks a tad off, but on your pics it looks correct.
What spray paint did you use on the headstock?
