Fender: hold my wine cooler...
Honestly IMO Fender makes a great instrument.....Yeah it couldn't possibly be because people are actually mad, it all has to be performative outrage, right? Everything is fine, nothing to see here.
Here's the deal. No matter what, no matter where, more competition is better for the consumer than less competition, in every possible case, zero exceptions. Fender's bullshit is going to mean less competition in the market in a large part of the guitar playing world, which means Fender will be more free to be lazy with their own ideas (if that's even possible these days) and charge way more for the same guitars because where else are people gonna go? People are rightfully mad/disappointed about that.
This can't-see-five-minutes-in-front-of-your-own-face "well it doesn't impact me right this minute because I'm in America so it doesn't matter" sentiment just doesn't work. What if there's some guitar company in Europe that has some great innovation tech that gets pushed out of the market because they happen to not be great at guitar body design so they use the strat body, and that innovation never gets caught and adopted by the big guys? And the butterfly effect is just one of the things we're worried about here. What if you're in Europe and you like the Telecaster body shape but you can't buy a decent telecaster with a humbucker in the bridge because Fender is too goddamn lazy / ignorant / incompetent to make one, so you never get inspired to start that band that gets huge and inspires everybody in America?
It is so unbelievably short sighted to think it's no big deal because this is happening in a place people in America can't physically see right this second. Besides, aren't you guys mostly conservative? Since when have conservatives been against free market competition and for sucking any single company's dick? That's like the entire conservative ballgame. Small government, as little oversight as possible, right? That means you should be against Fender weaponizing the government against other companies that can and will make a better product.
Basically, people are actually pissed because it matters and it will make the guitar playing world worse, even if you can't see it.
Yes......I mean, there's always something worse happening somewhere. But this is a guitar forum. Is there something bigger and worse happening in the world of guitar right now?
Addicted to attention. they're totally ruining the internet and have put their shit stamp on real life dating and relationships with how they seem to brainwash people in to believing certain narratives.Influencers must live a miserable life.
Totally did
Honestly IMO Fender makes a great instrument.....
If You can't make one sound good or think it's not up to par......
Jeez it was good enough for Hendrix or SRV.... And they only played production stuff and no Custom Shop crap....
And todays Quality is better than ever before.... I Guess thats not good enough for some![]()
Totally did![]()

It was all Fender parts...... No Custom Shop BS back then.... Nothing special.SRVs most famous guitar was highly customized and if were being honest.. a partscaster.
As Genuine as Genuine Licensed Fender parts *_*At least the outrage directed at @The~Kid is genuine

But nowadays everyone needs cork sniffing BS apparently just to get a decent sound![]()
I got nothing against Tim Pierce, and lord knows he's made way more money playing music than I have, but, Jesus, that discography is the biggest collection of lame ass, crap music I have ever seen in one place.Yeah, Tim Pierce is just some nobody. Found his recording credits in two seconds by googling.

I was going to just copy/paste it into this post but just the bullet point list is literally too long to fit into a single Rig Talk post. So yeah, just some youtuber.![]()
I disagree with zero exceptions, Consumers are dumb, and as a result the decreased quality that has become standard in the industry. Competitor A figures they can under Competitor B bu making a substandard modification to a bridge for example. The customer may not be educated enough to know that Competitor A took a design calling for a steel saddle and replaced the part with a die cast part. The competitor thinks they're getting a great deal, when in reality they are getting what they pay for.Yeah it couldn't possibly be because people are actually mad, it all has to be performative outrage, right? I'm not sure if it's true but, I've heard that the company that Fender sued in Germany, was a Chinese manufacturer that made counterfeits.US Courts have already ruled on this, something about only the headstock can be protected.. Suhr, Anderson, and the rest are still fine, and had that lawsuit not been decided due to one party not showing up there may have been a different outcome, so where is the outrage against the company that fender brought the lawsuit against...for not even bothering to show up.
Right. But I feel like I read on here recently someone saying 27 times in a different thread that a Friedman or a Bad Cat were much better choices than a Marshall JCM800.But nowadays everyone needs cork sniffing BS apparently just to get a decent sound![]()
In this case amps mentioned cost less or the Sam's and are better Built and better Quality than overseas junk Made by Marshall nowadays......Right.
