Bettencourt, Schon, Vai, Govan, Bonamassa, Buck Dharma, Brad Gillis, Randy Rhoads are among my favorites.

For music, tone, and chops, Bonamassa is my favorite.

In terms of just mind-blowing playing, Govan is the man.

Eric Johnson

When i watched him live in 1990 on the Ah Via Musicom tour i thought i was listening to God himself play guitar. I've never seen a live performance like that in person, or on tape.

Damn i forgot about bonamassa its between him and guthrie a tie for me.

You read my mind! Joe bonamassa = SRV/Page + Eric Johnsons tone

saw him in modesto and was in awe!

It changes often, but usually revolves (quickly) back to George Lynch

Dude!! I know exactly what you mean! Best i saw him was on Venus Isle tour. The most amazing tone and feel and musical ability i have yet to hear. I was almost in tears it was so amazing...

Eric Johnson for me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is truly a GIFTED player

Edward Van Halen
(even if he is licensing shoes these days)

Oye...like everyone else, count me in the "there's too many, and it changes depending on my mood" category....

Who's songwriting abilities influenced me the most? Jimmy Page.

Who's chops and phrasing do I wish I had, but know I'll never attain? Joe Satriani.

Who do I think is the best ever? SRV.

Who's tone knocks me on my ass when I turn up the stereo? Adam Jones.

Pick one that you'd best define "favourite" by :D

who is in your avatar?

and my answer is Mike Brons. I mean, as far as skill and songwriting chops go he's not that good. But he's got spirit
