I'm listening to Ola's video on quality studio headphones (Beyer DT-990 Pro 250 Ohm) and I must say I like what I'm hearing around 3m47s, when he changed the mid-shift setting and increases the mids.
The tone seems to have that 'clangy' quality that normally happens when you boost a high gainer with a TS-9 or alike. Similar to how the mids behave in the EVH 5150 III's red channel (unboosted), but with a dryer quality to it.
I wonder how this distortion would sound through a super high-headroom clean (SS) amp like a JC-120(H).... I kinda like it TBH. But yeah, $300...no.
