Fuck SweetWater........ They have been destroying and have destroyed the American Music Industry : (

I once bought a Tele from SW with a bridge pickup that didn't work. A bridge pickup on a Tele. Apparently Sweetwater's "55 point inspection" doesn't include plugging the damn guitar into anything and checking if it works.

Fuckery indeed.
sounds about right. At least if I get a guitar in the factory sealed box, it's either good from factory or it's not. I prefer to do my own setups and intonation with my preferred strings, so I don't need SW's fuckery

I stopped buying any major new items from SW years ago, especially guitars because of their useless 55-point inspection fuckery. I haven't purchased anything from them over $200 in several years.

I usually buy guitars, and keyboards, new; and I buy them from MF once I know it's coming from their warehouse in the factory sealed box; my MF sales rep knows if it looks like the box was opened and it shows any signs of being fucked with, I will return it.

Used gear is different, I'll go where I can find what I want at what I consider a reasonable price.
GC did me dirty on a replacement guitar where the first defective one was in a factory box, brand spankin’ new and the replacement was a greased up, scratched, floor model/return in a torn box with boot prints on it. Let’s just say it didn’t stick around and Fender is probably loving that I said auf wiedersehen to the guitar in general after that.

ouch.

So far so good with my new guitars purchased from MF; I've probably purchased over 20+ guitars from MF in the last 10+ years, and only returned 2-3 where the box was opened and showed signs of fuckery.

My MF rep said they do open some guitars at the warehouse for random inspections IIRC, especially on higher end models. She checks with the warehouse and puts in "factory sealed box only" in the order notes, so things have been great for last 5+ years or more.

Wow. Wheres the prozac

Where's the OP??

I just refrain from stuff like Amazon or Whole Foods and I rather go to Vons or something or a small grocery store. Musicians Friend is great IMO and I've bought a guitar from them no hassle and at a fantastic price.....

I just don't want to be a part of it, contribute and be a part of the problem buying from the companies mentioned and yeah SweetWater. Obviously when we have to we have to but it's just that simple for me and its a choice as a consumer...... People have power to make a better choice for themselves and the county too IMO :dunno:

Wow...... Dude never agrees with me but yeah...... Even Clev don't like SweetWater and fuck me :dunno:

I used to always shop at Vons or Ralph's when I lived in San Diego. Was great because there usually weren't many people there when I would go.

Yeah Albertsons is great too for the meats....... Unfortunately Ralphs has had a bit of a downturn but yeah Ralphs is great too. Walmart and Whole Foods aren't bad but I just rather go to these other places or like small local grocery stores. Its just nicer and you're not contributing to BS then.

Also when I want a sandwich I don't go to Firehouse Subs or Jersey Mikes or whatever..... I want to go to a place like Roscoes in Fullerton or Cortinas Italian Market in Anaheim for a real sandwich.

Ones local places are better than a lot of corporate shit IMO and small places just do it better.....

People have the power to buy better, support local and support a better America (y)

Sweetwater gives you a weight. Most retailers don't so that's why I buy from them.

I have one really good music store 40 minutes away but they never have what I want in stock and I did buy a guitar from them but it was kind of a nightmare. They don't have any guitars on display. They keep in the box in the warehouse. You cant just pick 5 and get the lightest one. They won't open all the boxes. I don't blame them for that cause they try sell stuff on the Internet but after that experience I'll just keep buying from Sweetwater. They give you a weight and pics of the guitar.

Looks dry as fuck, 4/10. Tomatoes look like shit. Too much lettuce. Layering is very lazy. Enjoy that poverty "sub", I guess.

I don't care at all about weight, but SW gives you pics of the actual guitars for sale. And I care about that A LOT since most of the guitars I like have either natural or transparent finishes, and figuring matters.

They will also work with you on a deal for particular guitars most of the time and offer interest free payment plans without getting a SW card. A lot of shops aren't inclined to budge on avg street pricing and sure as hell can't be bothered to have whoever runs their warehouses open the shipping box to let you see the guitar, which is a deal breaker for me unless the guitar has a standard solid finish of some kind.

Also, bad news for the OP. I just bought a guitar from SW......TODAY.

Cortinas is dank as fuck bro made fresh, with meats and cheese cut fresh there. Only some of the best in town, it ain't Subway but yeah it's not bad.

Hey if you want to buy shit from SweetWater, Whole Foods and Amazon be my guest. Me Im not going to contribute to the BS destroying the country and the music industry just so I can save a few bucks or whatever else. Its not worth it and it's rather cheap IMO but hey that's me.....

But hey that's me and everyone is free to make their choice.

Where was the shirt you are wearing right now made again? Wisconsin, right?

JFC. Unhinged. Sweetwater is a business Businesses need to make a profit to survive. Are their business processes perfect? No. Are they competitive? Yes. Have you ever been there? I doubt it. I have, about 20 times. They have a great selection of gear, they are helpful, they work with you on price if asked to compete. They are in the Midwest - not some third-world country. The owner worked his ass off over decades to build successful businesses. It’s an American success story. What more do you want?

Do you have nothing better to do than look for stupid shit to rant about every day? So. Fucking. Tiring.

I said I wouldn’t respond to your threads. I probably should stick to that. Unfortunately, you can’t seem to stop being a douche and (I believe) it’s constructive criticism for you to hear how off-putting your approach is. You spam the tuck out of this forum with incredibly stupid shit. To each their own, I guess, but maybe try to engage on shared topics of interest instead of castigating significant portions of the forum populous with your “all or nothing” approach.

I have to believe that your approach to interaction IRL is vastly different than your online persona. If not, I’m certain you would meet an untimely fate. If it’s real, no one with your level of hatred for all things and people survives long term. Relax, engage, consider other viewpoints and stop being a dick. I mean that in the kindest way possible… 🤷

Its not about that......

As said it's just a fucking monopoly pretty much...... If you want to contribute to that go right ahead but IMO it goes against my values. If you feel it's appropriate to buy stuff from Amazon, Whole Foods or SweetWater and support a Monopoly that is destroying the American Music Industry.

Go ahead support and buy stuff from SweetWater/Amazon or whatever else but IMO it's unAmerican to do so and support and promote a monopoly.........:dunno:
