OK, know how to put pics on flickr but no clue how to get them here.

You posted the whole flickr html-code, if you post the marked part above it will show up like this

How do you get that type of string with the .jpg? When I select share and try to post the link within the IMG tags, I get an error.

I'm so screwed on this I have close to 2000 photos all held hostage and I'm not paying the extortion fees to unlock them.

Only good thing to come of this is not seeing certain peoples' obnoxious signatures on their posts anymore and I'm not just talking about this forum.

just download your albums to your computer, thats what I did, literally took 2 minutes then I deleted my account and made an imager

Got the message today about being restricted due to third party usage, etc....heh, hell with 'em. In ten years I never used more than 3% storage, rarely linking my handful of photos there, etc. Thankfully I have all the originals on my drive so it was no biggie to first delete all the bucket folders/pics, then my account. I even took two minutes to reply to their email just in case some poor sap does sift through some of the thousands of reply's from folks that are no doubt deleting their accounts too. I mentioned sure it was free and handy, but it was a pleasure to be moving on vs paying fee's for what everyone feels has to be the slowest, clunkiest host out there, and it was especially wrong to be charging/restricting folks like myself that barely scratch the usage allotment to begin with.

I have close to a 100 albums. I wish they were all in one album because downloading them would be no problem. This will be hours worth of work.

If like before they charged 50 annually for a photo hosting service I would have no problem paying, as I was a paying customer of theirs for many years.

I've seen mention of some people's accounts going back to normal but mine hasn't. Even in my own account if I look at an image that I have hosted on another site, I see the ransom page instead of my own photo.

Are the thumbnail image links working?

It shows up for me, but maybe it's in my cache.

I just have a handful of pics on there but it's become nearly unusable with the fucking ads on there now.

just deleted my account. ads and costs make it worthless to me. I'd pay a small monthly fee for hosting, but $400 a year is rediculous when I only currently use less than 1 GB

Glad many of you have been able to download your album. Wish I knew how. I click on download album, go through the non-robot stuff, and it just times out every time. I've tried probably 30 times in the last week with no success.

I only have like 200 pictures on there but that is way to many to do 1 at a time, as slow as that sight is.

Any secrets/suggestions to getting it to download as a album?

I didn't know how either...so I just deleted all the pictures I had up there. Didn't download any. Mostly just pictures of old gear & beer anyway.

Yeah, I don't have any photos I really can't live without. 99% just gear pictures but I wouldn't mind keeping them and going somewhere besides photobucket.

I know how to download my album, it just doesn't work.

Didn’t know amazon had a photo hosting service. Just downloaded the app and decided to test it here:

Edit... and I guess it doesn’t work. Anyone have any luck using amazon prime?

I'm not having any issues with photobucket pics at all. I don't know where the $300+ is coming from. When I log in I just get a pop up that says get 100 GB as a subscriber for $89 for the year or $8.99 a month. I'm currently at 11% useage.

This is their pricing scheme. It's $400 a year to be able to host pictures and embed on other sites.

I did that add-in posted above so I can see your picture hosted on photobucket. Maybe that's the work-around now, but for awhile, I couldn't embed pictures here using photobucket.

Edit - just opened a new account again to see if it would work...it does now!

It's important to understand that this is purely as a result of bandwidth usage. If you're embedded images online are not viewed very much by others then you will not be using much bandwidth and will not receive the message from Photobucket.
I was on multiple forums with Photobucket sharing countless images which led me to rack up a lot of bandwidth usage on their end.
Once you hit a predetermined threshold of bandwidth use, you will get a notification from PB and your images will be blocked / held hostage until you pay.
