1. I don't care for ceramic pickups for getting awesome, smooth lead tones. Alnico all the way.
Ceramic pickups kick ass! Don't blame the pickups if you don't know how to use them.
Probably true, but not with my rig or my fingers.
2. Thin strings don't sound as good as thick strings. End of story.
I was ignorant to believe this in the past too, but different situations require different strings.
Again, my rig / fingers / ears are calling for thick strings. Guess I should have put in a disclaimer that these thoughts apply to me and YMMV.
3. 25w G12Ms sound great at low volumes, but with the amps I have, break up too much at higher volumes to sound amazing.
Depends on how many 25w G12Ms you have connected.
Very true! I ran a 4x12 which just wasn't enough.
4. Mesa V30s are much, much better than regular V30s.
What are you basing this statement on?
Past experience. I've worked with V30s for years, and the Mesa ones - currently loaded in my Bogner cab - smoke the others.
5. Uberschall with Uberkab is incredible.
I guess. I much prefer cabs with no insulation now.
6. Low action doesn't equal the best tone.
One thing you & I agree on.
7. Low pass filters are necessary for distorted rhythm guitars on recordings.
Can be used effectively, but not necessary at all.
Valid. Most tracks that I've listened to without the low pass filters, though, haven't been as appealing to me as those that have them. I find I really hate that extreme high end fizz.
