Yes, I still have it. And I still love it. The sound is pristine, and the programability is great. I've used it in a variety of different rigs. No issues. For me, one of my best purchases in quite a while.
Probably user error but I can't seem to find any info on purchasing. Are you still using the proprietary foot controller?

Have you used this in a 4 x cable configuration? If yes, what is your opinion?

I like it much more than the digital multi fx units I've used. I believe anything effects your tone - whether it's converters or buffers - but not everything in a bad way. I think this preserves your tone very well and any change is "musical". like a 2290. The boost/drive are nice up front, and fx are very warm.
Would you sell a 2290 in favor of the VR?

Only if I need the extra fx. I grew up with 2290s, and the effect it has on an amp is part of my core tone. The VR is great, and if I had never heard either and tested them out I would pick the VR.

For a scaled down rig I run the VR with a Lexicon and I really don't need anything else. In my big rack I add the 2290 for my favorite tone, but I don't haul that around anymore. Maybe if I got a big enough gig.

Running my TC 2290 (in stereo) with a TC 1210 is unlike anything I've ever played. I'm thinking about picking up a Shiva Tri Stereo Chorus to replace my Fulltone TERC. How would you compare the VR chorus to other choruses?

I don't use much chorus - and only have with the 2 TC units you mentioned. and now the VR, which I like TC more - but I use that in a bigger W/D/W rig, so not a great comparison. I use the VR in mono, and it sounds good to me - but I am really not the guy to ask on chorus. :)

I use the 1210 mainly for through-zero flanging. The spatial expander setting is cool also.

It is in one of my rigs. I still like it, but the company is gone - but unit is fine so far.

I just bought one a couple months ago from the owner-creator. I love it sound wise. I do wish there was more flexibility with the 4cm.

How is it gone ? Are you sure ? There's news on the website from 11/09/2016. They seem to have a new model out PedalPro EX.
