Some lucky doctor or lawyer will buy that and hang it on his wall to impress his friends who, secretly, couldn't give a shit less.

Yeah I remember that too. I thought that even THAT price was insane. It'll sell though I'm sure.

I know EVH stuff is on fire right now, but I still don't see the value in it even as a collectable.
 
I thought those didn't hold their value, at least while EVH was still alive. I remember seeing a few for $17k.
 
About $1k in parts, $2k in labor, and $39k in licensing, plus free shipping.

IIRC, EVH was getting paid 16% of gross sales on EVH Gear. But I think those guitars had way more than $2k of labor per unit. They made 300 of them. I follow a few Frankenstein guitar FB pages and some of the more accurate builds take an insane amount of work to get perfect.
