Lol that's about the least shocking news I've ever heard

Man alot of people crap on Dave.

When you come from a childhood of wanting to fit in, and not being able, the whole world feels like its against you. Which makes it all the more harder. You get picked on, singled out, and get treated differently. It makes you bitter and angry. You then subject those around you to your shitty behavior. You also direct that inwards via drugs and self destruction.
You tend to live/get caught in the past and blame others for ...everything.

It is only when you either confront that past and get closure, or as he did, get closer to God, that you can truly see how much of an asshole you were.
It's not a 12 step program. It is more a change in understanding. Going back to make things right, while also a 12 step goal, is more than that. You'd have to be there to truly get it. Its a need, you feel drawn to it. To mend fences, even if there isn't one to mend.

Once you open your eyes and see the truth, you can no longer live the lie. Its that simple.

Ask me how I know. (Please don't, lol).

Or one could just stop being a puss and not not act like a whiny dick all the time.

Dave looks like he's slowly morphing into Emperor Palpatine...

I've gone through all of that stuff in your first full paragraph myself, and without getting into the whole story, its traumatizing and effects you for the rest of your life.
i'm not shitting on the 12 step program or addicts, believe me. i'm going to a meeting later today myself. i struggle with that too. Many of us do, or have in the past.
i'm just saying, that was probably the catalyst for him doing that. Dave talks about it in his book. That is not to say he isn't sincere or didn't feel horrible about those things, once his head cleared up.

In another 20 yrs hes going to look like Keef
Hes only 3 yrs older than me

It kind of gives a totally new perspective on his claims that Metallica stole his music hyok hyok.

And lest we all forget: He snuck in his own house, it was 4 in the morning, he had too much to drink/said he was out with the boys.
