Guitar Prices

You sound so much like me I had to reread your post to make sure it wasn't me, lol. I never really got too upset about getting older until rumors of people screwing with social security came up. Don't jack up my retirement. I've worked since I was 15 years old and I'm almost 56. I just want to eventually be able to retire and just do nothing.
Retirement age now is 67 for boomers Bro. You can thank Ronald Reagan the gift that keeps on giving. And will be even higher for other genres.
SS is banking most of us will be dead or close to it by then.

Un-related more & more people are trying to make a living flipping guitars and music gear buying cheap knockoff and budget shit
and selling it for 2/3rds more than what they paid.
Its not just people selling off shit they don't want.
And alot of those type sellers have their shit listed under their wife or chicks name. Very common.
A whole sub-culture.

Things will not get any better until 80% of people in the west are earning the same as people in China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, etc.
It's all downhill until we reach that point and things equalize. Only way out is Western countries adopt hardcore trade barriers/tariffs and stick with them which will make things suck for 6-8 years and then have some sort of permanent protectionist measures before things start getting better, no politician has the balls/longevity for that and there's too many people in control benefiting from plotting labor and non-existent environmental regulations in other countries against their own citizens.

Its expensive because people buy. Stupid people paying the prices.

I have 3 GCs and the music zoo all within a 30 minute drive. I hit all three twice a month.

I make a full Saturday of it. Have lunch, dinner and stop in the cigar lounge on the way home.

Most used gear turns over fast. Nothing is there more than a few weeks. Most are price high enough where for 15% more you get a new one.

The shit sells fast. Id rather buy used but in most cases it isn't worth it especially with amps

Yesterday the used racks were slim pickins.
Pretty much everything from 2 weeks ago were gone with no replacement inventory

60% bare walls

Vast majority of my recent purchases were on reverb.i have the option to haggle and i do. Make a fair of offer and it usually gets accepted

If they put that cigar bar in Music Zoo, could save some time!!

I like looking for good deals. I love Mom and Pop stores. I got my SG from one and traded some stuff in so really walked out with a deal.

Theyre too high end for me. Only thing i ever bought there in 30 yrs was my SA2200.

I go just to look and its only about 2 miles out of my way. Weed store a few blocks away so win win

The other few mom and pops that are left have almost nothing used and all sell the same bullshit. Full of kids catering to school lessons
