Guitars with HORRIBLE Resale Value

Anything Korean drops like a rock too.
Esp LTD, and higher end Schecters typically. I'd add anything MIM, especially Charvels as well.

I see a lot of Aristides that have sat around for years on Reverb with no interest at price tags that are almost at par with the value new. From what I can tell, most of them are sold for far less. That's how I sold mine, but since I bought it used, I didn't lose out too much.

Who actually buys with resale in mind, seems like a weirdo to me. That being said custom guitars are definitely the worst for value and it's not even close.
You honestly don't understand that some people buy and sell alot to try different things out? Only a weirdo wouldn't consider resale value in that scenario.

I've been assembling my own guitars for the last 12 years or so, peppering in the odd "branded" guitar. Now all I've got left is a mutilated Charvel and a bunch of other parts casters. The Charvel being an MIJ has some value, but the others will only be of interest to friends of mine after I die. :p

I'm not really down with gear flippers who are only concerned with resale value so yeah I still think it's weird. I like to buy gear I actually want to try because I like it not because it has a good resale value. Also a lot of places have no restocking fees so you can just return it instead of reselling it.

I knew a guy before that was like this with cars, he would get one then resell it pretty quickly and never actually enjoyed any of the cars he bought, for him it was just about buying and selling it.

Aw man not that guy....

Anything that doesn't say Gibson, Fender, PRS, ESP/LTD or a select few other brands is pretty much gonna be taking a big hit on a resale.

I'm not sure I would include ESP... or at least not here near Nashville. LTD's seem to do ok, but higher end ESPs are very hard to move and you're going to take a huge hit in resale value.
