It's all what you hear in your own head and feel when you play the amp... Everyone hear has had tons of experience with these great amps and are all unique and different in many ways.. But also very much the same. It all comes down to your choice.
I've owned a lot of amp some a number of times, Bogner Soldano Wizard Diezel Roccaforte Mesa Marshall Metropoulos Demeter Fender Aiken and more I can't think of lol..
The only amp that has made me smile every time I play it is an SLO so 7th time is a charm for me.
Just my 2cents
Cheers

What did you think of the Helios?

Honestly haven't played one yet. I'd like too try one...from forum info and clips it sounds like a really good Marshall just like Friedman, Splawn, Wizard etc..

I have to admit I'm liking the stock SLO better these days. My current one has Depth only and I have it turned to zero (out of the circuit) 95% of the time.

The Helios is a great amp but I'm changing my vote back to the SLO. If you get the right Delay pedal the loop is not really an issue when playing live!

So if you had to sell one and keep the other?

If I could only have one I would keep my SLO before the Helios.

I'd say SLO also. The Helios is great but just something I much prefer about the Soldano tone. Don't own either one now but have a Soldano HR25 I love.

Since the SLO is getting more love and it's more more expensive (when brand new) than the Helios, why are the used prices for the Helios higher than the SLO? The Bogners in general seem to have really high resale value for some reason versus amps. I don't get why.

Hmmm.....last few Helios I've seen for sale for 2500.....that's what I've bought/sold 2 SLOs for..
Maybe the Helios holds more value used compared to new because there's a wait time for new product?

Could be. All the Helios I've seen for sale were between 2600-2900, which seems really high considering it's 3100 brand new. I bought the SLO I used to own for 2400 and I've seen them in the past for as cheap as 2000.
