I see even local musicians preaching politics from the stage. I guess I am from the old school where I went to shows for a good time, good music, good friends, and forgetting about all the usual nonsense a person has to deal with on a day to day basis. That's pretty much the entire point of blues music since it's inception.

And I never once praised Roger Waters for his political statements, my words were to the effect of, I didn't give a fuck either way with either of them. I don't care. And it works both ways btw; I play to an audience full of super-commies and blue hairs - do you think I bring up my most divisive views on stage? Of course not. Everyone in the audience knows my political leanings if they care to, but that isn't why people come to my band's shows. They come to mosh and watch me shred, not listen to me blather on about immigration or the fed.

It's the same thing, just on a bigger level, for RW and Metallica.
