I have a custom built Ear Candy Buzzbomb, and I think it's a great cab, but I don't think I've got the right speakers in it. It's loaded with Eminence Red Ryders, which they don't even make anymore. The reason I went with them in the first place, is because I was used to playing through an old Marshal 4x12 cab loaded with Celestion G12T-75 speakers. The thing I do like about both the Red Ryder and the G12T-75 is the articulation, as in, I can rip out some technical thrash type riffs and every single pick will be heard with no mush, it will track every note as fast as I can possibly pick it. The thing is, they are too ice picky to my ears. I'd like something smoother and fuller sounding, but still with enough bite and cut; I want every pick, every note to be heard, no mater how fast I play.
I've played through the Eminence Wizards, and they were very nice, but didn't have the cut and fast pick-ability I like. I was thinking of just swapping out one of the Red Ryders for a Wizard, hoping to kind of get the best of both worlds, but I'm not sure.
So what do you think? Should I just swap one out for a Wizard, or is there a different set of speakers I should be looking at?
