I think the rational behind why people want certain want their choices of amps is as is interesting to me as the choices themselves.

I could settle for just the herbert if I wanted to play my preference of heavy metal tones, but its never going to nail that David Gilmore sound. I was just listening to the live version of "fly on you crazy diamond" yesterday, such simple melodies but sounding so liquid...the kind of tone that takes people away on a journey when they listen...no hallucinogens required.

I listen to loads of metal but I absolutely LOVE Pink Floyd. I have their vinyls in my room, all originals (Okay, I took them to stop my parents putting them in storage)

Why I want what I do is so I could have just one amp for any gig, and be able to have a great riff tone and a great liquid lead tone, my 5150 II is actually better for rhythms than it is for leads, it's great for leads but I'd still prefer something smoother, as for cleans, cleans are decent but I also play jazz stuff now and the 5150 II is essentially a metal amp. And I like kt88 power section for the balls and clarity and the footswitchable functions and 2 effects loops would be great as I like to use comp and sometimes very light delay on my clean with no NS-2 and a NS-2 and no comp/delay for rhythms, and a GE-7, NS-2, sometimes light delay for leads. So that'd be good for me.


So there's my reasoning. .. I think I want a VHT Pitbull UL.
