Back and forth between a Wizard MC25 and a 3rd Power CSR40. Currently the Wizard is getting the regular call

Last couple gigs was a Laney GH50L. Going forward, whenever the return to a stage happens, it will be either the Morris UK 67, or what I've got him lined up to build me next.

My current gig rig.
I’m using a model of a Mesa Triple Rectifier, that my co-guitarist and I based off his ‘97 Triple Rectifier, (actually we’re both using the exact same amp models & FX in our rigs.) for both rhythm and lead tones. Then we use the model of the Roland Jazz Chorus 120 for our clean tones.

I like to rotate them like i do my pedals

What dictates what amp i use is the guitar
Some of my amps like the BD loves SCs but sounds shitty with HBs

And vice versa with other amps

My C30 and MM65 couldn't care less what's plugged into it.

They just rock with everything

Then theres the weight factor..
Im not lugging 85 pounds around even with wheels

I found anything above about 85lbs to be unmanageable for me unless Smash comes to my gigs. When I invite him he always tells me a job came up that can't wait bud.

Why did I think your group was a three piece or do you sometimes work as a trio also?

All of my gigs to date have been either my Orange Super Crush 100 combo or an Orange Gain Baby into my Orange v212.

Now that I have the Syn-2 and Fryette PS-2A, that will be my gig rig and then I'll have my Laney Supergrace pedal as a backup.

I have been in multiple three pieces in the past, as well as four pieces as the only guitar player

with Not all there we've always been a four piece when ive been in the band

I like having a 2nd instrument to thicken up the rhythm but when I played downtown all the time finances dictated three pieces. I even had drums-keys-guitar for a while where the keys player was playing the bass and comping at the same time. That was probably my favorite three piece situation but I'd still rather have more guys.

35 yrs ago I was able to get my arms around them and throw them in the back of the truck

Theses days no way
So i bought 2 112 cabs in its place and stack them.

If you have a three piece, it only works for certain styles of music, and also everyone needs to sing, backups, oohs and ahs, whatever, there has to be more going on then just the bare bones

It takes a lot of work for a three piece band to take up enough sonic space, and you gotta be up for the challenge - most three pieces i hear, fall very very short of that

The vast majority of the time, it's just not going to sound like a full professional unit because no one is multitasking with vocals or bg vocals or playing samples with a midi foot controller, fuckin SOMETHING man.
