Zuul+ is doing the job, but I wish it closed the gate quicker. I do use the key input before the gate.

I have been using a second gate right after my pedals and before input of amp to control how fast it closes. The one in the loop just keeps it quiet

Have you tried a Decimator II G-String? It is both in front of the amp, as well as in the loop. Very fast at higher settings.

That's what I do sometimes too. I have a Zuul+ for 4CM but I also have two regular Zuuls—one for out front and one for the loop if I want to go that route instead. That way you can set them differently.

Yeah this is basically a lonewolf tannhauser - two zuul+'s in one enclosure with separate I/O and switches for signal direction

I actually stopped using zuuls. I have a decimator x g-string. And while it has to be turned up way more to kill same noise as the zuul, it has completely natural sustain and decay.
With it run in 4cm and in loop, i put a regular decimator x before the amp with a cable link for tracking and it controls my clamp.
The two zuul method is very powerful and i used to use it a long time ago. I think that may be the fastest gating i have ever used. But what i have going now with the sustain fits my playing better.

I got a little redlight fever with these clips, so my string silencing game was a bit weak. But when i actually perform it right, you can hear how the setup works

Anyone have any experience with the TC Sentry? I have one coming today to try. Reviews and demos I have watched seemed positive, but I have not seen it mentioned too many time here.

Doesnt the zuul+ only have 3 jacks?
That pedal was always confusing to me, especially with the key thing.
I use the endless blockade and it works extremely well. Never tried a zuul but its been the best gate out of the 10 or so ive tried.
Dont even know if there's a key or if im doing it right but it works.

The version of the Zuul+ I have has four jacks, one is the key in, which has an output to your pedals/preamp or whatever, then the top jacks are the in and out for the gate. I'm only needing one gate after pedals before the amp. I some rather unorthodoz stacking with fuzzes and overdrives on a bass rig. The Zuul squashes the noise and feeback, but it doesn't clamp down as fast as I'd like, even at the quickest setting. I shouldn't need double gates in my scenario.
I had the regular Decimator for years, but not the G String version, I'll look into it.
I'm really opposed to digital editors and all that like the TC pedals. I've neer heard of that Lone Wolf one, looks pricy though.

I think the string won't help in your situation. If you aren't running it in the loop, i dont feel like it is the answer. I am impressed that the zuul is killing all the noise since you aren't running in loop. That is cool.
I think the hardest gates i have heard of are the boss like @Techdeth uses

Yeah, the lone Wolf surely isnt worth the extra money but it is one of the best I've tried, for me. There is NO gate that is perfect. The G string 2 was also great.

I hard flirted with it because i know exactly what i wanted out of a gate, but i got such mixed review that it was tough and I ended up going a different direction. But report back. I love gates

Its a decent gate. I never hooked it up to the PC for the toneprints though i wish I did before I sold it.

I have the Sentry. Bought it after watching Ben Eller and Fluff do a gate shootout from Sweetwater. It works pretty well. Beat out a Decimator G string and a Boss unit. Could never get the Boss to work for me. The tone suck was way too noticeable.

i have a TC sentry, the Zuul + & a Decimator Pro Rack G. All 3 of them are great! the Zuul+ is my favorite so far.

Yes, if you look at my comment I said that the tannhauser is TWO zuul+s
The endless blockade is more similar to one zuul plus, although there are blockades with four io too
Depends on what features you need but yeah. Since I've been running an ENGL with a built in gate for my live rig, I didn't need the tannhauser anymore - but I would 100% own another one or a blockade they are excellent (even tho joe a is "different")

Yeah mine has 4 jacks, none of them are labeled but I have a screenshot that Joe posted on the FB group years ago that I reference.
Just wish I knew what it was doing and if there's a key input/if im doing that part right.
