Just busted out my BC Rich...

IMHO, BC Rich was the company that took guitar making to another level, besides Fender & Gibson, in terms of innovation.
Not many companies, since the 70's, came up with body shape and electronics that different from the run of the mill.
Even the Zemaitis guitars, my favorite one, are more of a bit different shaped Les Paul or Telecaster, than a completely original design, like a Warlock, Bitch or a Mockingbird.
I'm still getting a Warlock or a Mockingbird for myself!
Love them!!!!

One of my dream guitars is a 1981 Mockingbird. I'd probably do something obnoxious like paint it some fuck-off bright red color like Kerry King's. My other dream BC Rich is an early 80's Warlock with the traditional 3x3 headstock. No Kahlers

It's not a real BC Rich unless it has that R logo.

Even their old BC Rico imports were one of the finest guitars I've ever played.

The blue grey Warlock in the 1983 catalog is the guitar that started my love affair with BC Rich. I saw an ad with a pic of it in the a guitar mag in the early 80s. Been a fan boy since

Dam Jim, that guitar is BADASS
My fav BC Rich ;)

Thanks bro. It's on the heavy side but sustains like few guitars can. I think I may change pickups though. Looking for a little more bite and grit.

I love that blue color. I put a Duncan Trembucker in my Mockingbird SL and it's pretty wild, I like it quite a bit more than the Alnico II that was stock.

I'm not surprised. The Alnino IIs are mild and warm. I still have one in the neck pickup slot. It's nice but I think an SD 59 is better in the neck.

My first guitar was an 86' bc rich warlock. With a Kahler trem. I miss that guitar like you wouldn't believe. And of course I can't find another like it anywhere.

Pics?

Just scored an import Gunslinger this last weekend, killer guitar, I've had 2 US Gunslingers in the past one of my favorite models of any brand....

Nice!!

A friend of mine is building this for me. Not sure I'm a fan of the top he chose, though. I'm not the biggest fan of quilted maple. I prefer flame figure. I do really like the inconsistency of the figuring (the "bald" spots). He is planning to build a 2nd one for himself, so depending on the what wood he has for the top on that one, we may swap.

ps. the fretboard is not attached. nor is it the actual fretboard for the guitar. He placed it in the pics for demonstrative purposes.
