great band, their last album is especially good,

if you like that kinda vibe, check out katatonia, although a bit darker in nature their last 2 albums in particular are more atmospheric, but real heavy =0

one of my favourite bands. perfect doom/gloom music.
pity they are boring as hell to watch live thou (saw them at roskilde festival in copenhagen...in the rain and mud...had a chance to see them in the perth australian scorching summer and thought wtf? pass)

i kinda know what you mean, the music really speaks but there isn't really a show so to speak, i've only seen them indoors, which is a good match, i can't possibly imagine seeing them during the day

probably as weird as when i saw cradle of filth play at 5 in the afternoon heh

Love this band, awesome. I've seen them twice live and would absolutely go anytime they were near town. Something about this band really moves me.

Call me crazy but these guys remind me of Mudvayne, Not completely but they sound like a bunch of bands that Ive over the last few years... Not bad but Im not sure that Ill be giving them much listening time...

I am not a fan of Nu Metal styled/voiced bands. Sounds like a bunch of other bands that do the same thing. I like heavier stuff I guess. I made it about 30 seconds in, was all I could handle.

dont judge them by lifelike.

listen to the clips i posted...cote, themata, set fire to the hive and all i know

theyre not a numetal band.

I dig them! Kinda a Incubus, Hoobastank, Tool, Dream Theater...the list goes on! But very cool to my ears!

Yeah, they sound like a lot of bands I've heard before like Hoobastank, Trapt, or Taproot. I mean not bad or anything but they bore me after 30 seconds and all the vocals of all these bands sounds like the same guy singing.

Kinda like this...

Ian Kenny of Karnivool is way better than the Trapt or Hoobastank singers, IMHO... I find his voice very refreshing...he writes great lyrics, isn't incredibly ego oriented/self-absorbed like many American singers and has a great ear for melody in the songs...he knows how to compliment the music and at a time when many singers just can't do what they did on the album, he actually nails the songs on stage and fronts two of the biggest bands in Australia...pretty f'in cool. I saw there was this huge festival in Australia last year and both of his bands won...Karnivool won best hard rock and Birds of Tokyo won best rock.

You need to check out 'Sound Awake'...there's more complexity to those songs than the 3 bands you mentioned combined. I'd say they are much more of a prog rock band than nu-metal.

I see what you guys are saying, but the song Scott posted isn't the best example of his singing style. But hey, maybe you'll dislike the other songs even more.

I agree that it has that modern feel but these guys definitely beyond in interesting choices of rhythm, chords, and melody than the bands mentioned.

I agree, to me, theyre alot like Mudvayne. They had a load of interesting rhythms and time sig shifts coupled with alot of neat meoldies, both in instrument and vocals. I wasnt really a fan of them either but I respected what they brought to the table, just like these guys. Its just a preference thing....

They still sound pretty damm similiar. But with Deconstruction and Ghost out.............why the hell are you listening to ANYTHING besides that? Deconstruction is sooooooo amazing I'm still wrapping my head around it. It's one of the best metal albums I've heard in a long long time.

Just heard their cover of Sleeping Satelite today, someone from my YT friends list liked it!

Killer version.

I LOVE Karnivool. Can't wait to see them live! The band I joined recently got to open for them last year so I'm jealous.
My favorite is probably Deadman. Followed by Change, Goliath, Mauseum, All I know, and pretty much every other song.
