Real men play tube amps.

Does that make a Kemper like a hispter who shops at Whole Foods?

  I jest

People who say there's "No good music nowadays" are either just bitter, close-minded, or too lazy to give other genres and artists a chance.

All the old blues players such as BB King, Albert King, Peter Green, Buddy Guy etc etc are just boring to me. I'm sure they were great in their day, but blues players who took it further over the years like SRV, Bonamassa and Gary Moore are WAY more interesting.

Anyone who constantly buys/trades amps that are worth thousands and thousands of pounds/dollars, but never gig or even play in a band for fun, are people whose opinion I trust the least.

I think it's funny that guys will buy modeling and profiling amps, then spend weeks (months?) doing profiles of their gear and trying to tone match to get it as close as they can...to the tone they ALREADY HAVE with their real amps and possibly a couple pedals.

"Check out this clip! I've been dialing in my Fractal/Kemper/Line 6 for a couple weeks now and I don't think anyone would even know the difference on tape/in the audience. It's 90% there to sounding exactly like my Marshall!"

"But...your Marshall sounds 100% like your Marshall...right?"

"Yeah, but look at all the options and flexibility I have with this!"

"That's cool. Are you gonna make a bunch of patches for the band?"

"Nah, I'll probably just use my Marshall patches."

"So you bought a $2000 piece of gear and spent weeks dialing it in...to sound 90% like the tone you already have and like?"

"But look at all the flexibility!"

:D

I kid as well..they are great supplemental tools for the recording/gigging player. But they'll never replace a good tube rig.

The Beatles were nothing more than a boy band who got strung out and started making hippie dope music.

Jcm 900's are great amps.

If someone wants to pay me millions to go take drugs in Inida, write a few weirds album and get called the greatest band in the world I'll take it haha

Yeah, but would you play a JCM900? That's crossing the line.

-Carvin/Kiesel guitars: you can put 20 shades of lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig

-KISS : while hugely successful is nothing but bubble gum rock wrapped in bukakke paint

-Phil Collins: is a better drummer than 90% of all modern metal drummers

-Suhr Guitars: are overpriced boring blanks of termite infested wood

-Ibanez: the choice of meatheads everywhere

-Randall Amplifiers: are pure shite, yes even their most recent line. I’m sure the kids in the Chinese sweatshop appreciate the work though

-George Lynch: was cool 20 years ago, let him fade into obscurity. Besides, he hangs out with thieves like Jonathan Wilder

-Steve Stevens: dresses like a confused tranny. Just make the transition already

-Peavey Amps: still kick the dick off amps 3x their price point

-Maynard James Keenan: book signing? WGAF? Put out a Tool album, tool

-Heroine kills: **** off Layne & all you dumb sonsabitches who knew better

-Ozzy Osbourne: is a shit vocalist

-Wrathchild America/Souls At Zero: are the most underrated band of all time

-Peeper Keenan: is a dick who thinks his contribution to metal is way more important than it really is

-Godsmack: is the musical equivalent of a short-bus

-Corksniffers: are laughable mommas boys who need their diapers changed

You’re welcome.

Makes sense. They're dying out too.  But that's a different unpopular opinion thread, I 'spose.

Can't argue with that logic!

Led Zeppelin I-Physical Graffiti is one of the best record streaks of all time. Crap after that

Scorpions should've died when Roth left.

I hate 98% of the 80's metal scene. Tears for Fears was better.

Master of Puppets should've been the last Metallica album.

Butler was the most talented musician in Black Sabbath.

Dio is not god.

As much as I occasionally listen to Nirvana; Cobain (and Dimebag... and Randy...) are only given god status becuse they died. If they were alive they'd be druggie burnouts by now that couldn't catch a gig to save their life (*cough cough* Jaco)

Randy's tone was garbage. Always was.

I like Don Henley and Joe Walsh much better outside of the Eagles.

Gilmour knows how to bend a string. But still overrated.

The Marhsall RI's in stock format are crap. The treble will slice your head off before you ever get above 2 on the volume.

I don't think Kiss should've ever been signed.

Kemper and AXFX or whatever, they don't do anything for me. Give me a proper ceriatone RI plexi or dual terror and I'll get better tone.

A good Les Paul can't be beat. Now, they are few and far between, but DON'T LET GO IF YOU GET ONE.

Mustaine = :doh:

I love Lana Del Rey and Lorde. The "Born To Die" album has some of the best vocals of all time in my opinion.

The Edge has never excited me.

50's wiring and low output PU's, that's where it's at.

The 498t/496r or whatever set is in the LP custom's are crap.

The Danelectro reissues (~$400) are awesome. Add an 0R15 and a 2x12 =

EVH posers, you aren't impressing anyone.

"Superstrats" :bleh: :bleh:

Dirty clean (i.e. cranked JTM45 with fuzzface, crybaby, and echoplex) is far superior to high gain.

Matamp and ElectricAmp has the sexxiest looking heads. Picture frame with large chassis :inlove: 4-holer's are a close second

Deftones is another way of saying "Tone Deaf". Good god, no one likes that washed out reverbed chugga chugga

Yello was one of the best groups of the 80's.

Active pickups don't impress me.

Uncovered humbuckers look much better.

Signature and relic'd gear is NOT cool. VOS is cool. -er.

There is absolutely no point in trying to protect your gear from nicks and scratches if you love it and USE IT.

Pointy guitars are stupid. Explorers are ok though...

Wes Borland wasn't able to reach his potential in a vessel like Limp Bizkit.

I never understand The Who.

The chord progression in "I'd Love To Change The World" is superior to "Staiway To Heaven".

New SG's and the LP studio faded have more value per dollar than %98 of the new LP standards and customs.

The Gibson Firebird VII is the sexiest and classiest guitar ever and puts all LP bursts to shame.

Wes Boreland never had potential.

Blades amps rule.

There are statements like this throughout the thread and it cracks me up. "I don't enjoy it so they shouldn't have made this music that other people clearly enjoy"

And the mainframe has been dead for close to 25 years too.

The first Candlebox album has the best recorded drum tones of any rock album...

The drums on that album do sound killer. That whole album, regardless of whether one likes the music or not, sounds great.

I get that, but "things that I don't like just shouldn't exist" mentality (as opposed to the "I don't like _____" or "____ sucks" opinions) is just funny. Shows another level of hate, god forbid there are thing in this world you don't agree with
