My disdain for Billie Joe ( spells his name like a girl by the way) and Roger Waters as instrumentalists worthy of signature models has nothing to do with the fact that they are both bat shit fucking crazy.

I actually dig that color. Is that like a Robin egg blue or something?
He actually got some killer tones on the 90’s records. I personally don’t care for the songs per se and I’m not a fan of the band. I’ve never understood how they stayed so big all these years.
Didn’t he use a blend of two modded amps in the studio? i.e. There’s not really one amp for the sound.
I really don’t see how you couldn’t find one pedal that would do it on a stock amp. Hell, even the right hot pickup might get it done.

This a fantastic tone whether you dig the band or not.

Actually, I reckon you could also get super close with Friedman Jose, after playing one the other day. But that won’t really save you money. 😔

And one wonders why dudes like BlowJob Armstrong plays Marshalls.....

And dudes and players like Slash and Billy Gibbons dont 🤔

I already posted that I want to see the range of the preamp.. if its anything like the suhr mod I'm out... only really works to 9am then its gets muddy.

i was in like 6th grade when they got big, and everyone liked them. now my kids are in middle school, and they all like green day.
I think that kind of says SOMETHING, right? i mean they've had staying power at least. My son has been playing guitar for like 6 months, and he was learning some green day stuff this morning. Its great for beginers to feel like they can play SOMETHING. if that is what inspires him to want to play, i'm cool with it.
I thought the first 4 records were pretty solid for what it was. i thought they were more like Motorhead than people might think. i mean they were always high on speed, playing fast with a ton of attitude, and fairly simple, shorter songs with punk ideals, but maybe not exactly punk. They kinda wrote the same album like 5 times with various levels of production maturity, but it was catchy and fun. what does being punk or not really matter anyway except to some old gatekeepers that don't matter.

i remember being at a party in middle school when Dookie came out, this fucking prick who i cant stand to this day took out my Primus tape to put Green Day on and i wanted to fight him. Next time i see him at the super market it might be on

Punk was a serious movement in the 70's. It was pure angst rebelling against oppressive gobernments. It's really brought out real emotion in music.

Anyone who was around in the 70's sees GD as phoney punk.

A bunch of bratty suburban kids trying to be tough and cop some of the real punk movement.

im no Green Day historian, but i know they came up in that 924 Gilman scene with a bunch of other punk bands, they were doing their thing for a while before getting big
