Marshall 1959BJA Billie Joe Armstrong Demo

I remember when Dookie came out. I liked it. Until the radio overplayed it. And nothing they’ve done since is worth a fuck. 💁‍♂️
Kind of my point. You can argue that they are generic etc. now but in 94 their impact was good and made a lot of people pick up the guitar. It`s part of their legacy as is their moded Marshall sound that came with it. Other bands like Rancid used the same tone for their recording back then.

Rancid actually have talent though.

Greenday is one of the few bands keeping young people interested in rock guitar. Also the dookie tone is pretty well regarded and now that Golub is dead this seems like a good option. I like em, saw em 2 years ago and they were fucking incredible live.

Okay, I finally had a chance to listen and I was fully expecting to shit on it like everyone else. But for the first 3 minutes, I dug the tone anyways. But my IR-J also does that tone in spades. And for $4K, I'm going Friedman or Suhr.

Edit: Nevermind - the high gain tone with the Les Paul sounds like shit.

GD is an embarrassment to music and musicians.

Young people can still listen to the Stones, Led Zep and VH.
Why quote me? We aren't talking, we aren't friends. Put your opinion/comment whatever like everyone else. But don't quote me like your trying to argue or have a gay experience. Shit like this is why I rarely post...jeeze.

Then don't post at all psycho.

You and the "young people" can go fuck yourselves.

3:34, ouch. It literally sounds broken.

I'm not saying team Zen always gets it right - we absolutely do not. But for the life of me I can't fathom how often Boogie, Marshall and other big brands get it so wrong.

On BJA, politics, fake punk - I don't really care because I generally dig the tones, even if you cool guys tell me it's uncool.
Your Tool tones rocked.

I wonder how close it is to John Suhr's mod? He can't be happy.
I was wondering about this as well. They mention him and Bradshaw in the official Marshall video, which I was a bit surprised about.

I think pretty much anything is fair game now when it comes to traditional technology, and it would be stunningly hypocritical of anyone to cry theft. Most of Suhr's amps and guitars are essentially copies or close descendants - Strats, Teles, Fender and Marshall amps - the company wouldn't exist without them.

Sad to say, but someone copying an Axe FX or Kemper would be more contestable. How ironic.

i still have my 3 ring binder from middle school buried somewhere ill have to dig up, its covered front and back with the bands i was listening to at that time.. its Zep, Sabbath, Floyd, most all the big grunge bands, Ratt, Primus, 311, Rage, James Gang and other random 70/80s bands. i never went through a punk phase, i already didnt like The Clash or Ramones before Green Day came out, i was definitely the odd one out with that though
No punk for me either.
