The Brad King Atomica, Old Bitch & CCV era amps are not considered "Cameron" by the amp tone purists.

I spose it depends who you talk to.

I don't think Mark will ever go mainstream. He still mods amps under the cover of darkness ...

I have a Cameron Jose schematic but who knows what it sounds like. I haven't built it yet. Maybe one day. I also have a Fortin Cali Schem. Same deal, haven't tried it yet.

I have a 2203 Aldrich and it kills. You get one sound, even among the tone shaping tools, but it is a glorious sound. It's hairier then other mods that I have played, and saggier, but still has the bite.

I had a #34 and It was a great sounding amp, but just a better sounding Plexi IMO. You can only get so much without adding gain stage(s).
The Cameron I played was on another level and crushed the Levi mod.

I have played and heard a lot of tones over the years. To this day, the best amp I've ever heard is my friend's Aldrich Mod Cameron. It was just unbelievable sounding and felt like you were on a huge stage when playing it. Another buddy in Hawaii had a Cameron Jose Mod and sounded phenomenal as well.

Isn't it ironic the guy who arguably does the best sounding mods is someone you can't trust ...What a shame.

Well, no... that's not irony. But it does suck.

I don't know the Aldrich mod or whether it has a Jose MV (i.e. clippers). I have a Friedman modded 2203 (BE/HBE/C45 mods) but it doesn't have Jose MV. If the schematic for the Levi #34 is correct then it is not a super high gain mod it doesn't appear, it's looks very JCM800 with some value changes.

I tried the Friedman BE mod in a homebrew 50W smallbox and then added a Jose MV to it. I def like it better with the Jose MV but it sounded good before.

Without an added gain stage or clippers it seems it's difficult to get full saturation on single notes on the 1st-3rd/4th strings. So far I seem to prefer no added gain stage and with clippers but I'm more into 70s-80s tones.

I've got a killer FJA Aldrich mod for sale if anyone's interested. Half the price as a Cameron and sounds just as good...if not better

I still have it.  The white SLP head is the High Gain/Low Gain Jose, and the Atomica NAMM Proto amp (LOVE this thing!)

I love my 1972 Marshall Super Lead with the Cameron Aldrich mod. I had Mark mod it to my specs about 5 years ago. It has high/ low power, push pull presence pot, two 3-way toggle switches and a depth pot. It's a tone and gain machine. It was also used as an example for Alex's RC100. Mark did some custom stuff and went back to his original "Norum / Aldrich" design. If Mark were to make a CCM, it would be very similar to mine.
