this looks pretty cool if it sounds like the Mesa....

Not up on their site yet. I wonder the price with the USA tariffs.

Does mesa have an internal boost regulator (or other voltage doubling+ scheme) in their version? And does this one? 9v peak to peak is not enough for loop use, and that's the key use case for something like this.

While at it, does anybody know why no one has replicated that GEQ pedal from Mesa?

Wayne said no, so I wonder what’s so special/proprietary/unobtainium/expensive inside them?

Mesa stopped making their pedal version, glad somebody is picking up the slack.

I’ll also say the ME EQFH is the best sounding pedal EQ I’ve tried for putting in the loop. I don’t doubt this new one sounds good too.

The mesa amp circuit runs on like 30v dc I believe. So you'd need a pretty expensive boost regulator. Like $20 in small volume. And it's got 5 inductors and the faders. Beyond that it's a trivial circuit.

Not sure what they did for the pedal but duplicating the amp version would be just fine IMO. You could add an input and output stage and two knobs if you wanted but the amp version should be unity gain.

I’m also curious what they did in that pedal

Per his post on Facebook….

In the final stages of getting the VEQ ready for release.

Introductory price will be $199 usd + shipping and the reg price will be $229 usd

Any interest in pre-orders for this?

#mesaboogie #5bandeq #eq #scoop #mark

very interested... i don't even need it either. i have a 5 band on my mark IVa (i dip my 240hz slider pretty hard, but run everything else flat) and the master effects PMEQ, but maybe i could run this in front?
MOAR SCOOP MEANS MOAR BETTER!

I have the Mesa one and its very effective. Very cool pedal. Does anybody know why Mesa discontinued them? It couldn't be because of lack of parts, especially if they were able to resurrect the MKIIC+

I have the Mesa one as well. the Fractal VP4 has a mesa clone 5 band EQ in it that can sound pretty close, actually.

Why they mess stopped making the dive band I don’t understand, but it’s cool to see a few companies picking up the slack.

I'm glad you posted this thread because I would be interested in it and flip my Mesa one for a pretty profit. You see how much they sell for these days? Insane.

Yeah....I spent last weekend comparing the two side by side and considered just selling the Mesa to fund another VP4. lol

Oooohhhhhhhhhh a Mesa EQ clone !!

good looking one too ... I like the LED sliders ....

but alas ... it won't turn my Marshall into a IIC+

@Rackman knows why ......... it's about voltage and placement

if the one in an amp was even remotely easy to replicate ......it would have done to absolute death by now by every pedal company in existence
