Yeah....I spent last weekend comparing the two side by side and considered just selling the Mesa to fund another VP4. lol

I got a VP4 this week and have been super impressed. It is the first digital unit I dont mind in the loop without an analog mixer.

While at it, does anybody know why no one has replicated that GEQ pedal from Mesa?

Wayne said no, so I wonder what’s so special/proprietary/unobtainium/expensive inside them?

good looking one too ... I like the LED sliders ....

but alas ... it won't turn my Marshall into a IIC+

@Rackman knows why ......... it's about voltage and placement

if the one in an amp was even remotely easy to replicate ......it would have done to absolute death by now by every pedal company in existence

I have no idea why Mesa stopped production on the one that is going for stupid money now ..... my guess is it's not cost effective to produce

Looks like with a 9v supply they should be good for 300mA at 30V which is way more than required.

They're also cheap and in stock.

Looks like they went pretty much the voltage boost direction I suggested, which is good. It seems like a larger form factor with inductors instead of gyrators would have been better. Not cheaper though.
