Megadeth "Let there be shred"

I minimized the video and just listened to the song. I'm sure the video was cringe worthy...

The music immediately reminded me of Kill 'Em All, with better production and I guess a Megadeth twist? The leads are great, and at least seem to escape pentatonic wanking, but feel more forced than anything on Rust in Peace or Countdown. Rhythms are impressive and tight, but boring AF.

Dave's voice is too forward in the mix...and since he's obviously struggling in this department, combined with these awful lyrics makes this cheesy as fuck. So much so that I had to stop it at the final verse. Sorry, I just can't handle the cheese factor. Same reason I stopped listening to Dream Theater.

Did not make it through the whole song.
I may need to give it another spin when I’m in a better mood.

I kinda liked the main riff and song structure TBH. Lead tone needed some fattening up (or amp needed more boosting), but in the mix thought it sounded good overall.

Didn't watch the videos and couldn't care less about the lyrics in a Megadeth song.

Whether it's a good, mediocre, or bad song, one thing I know for sure is that I won't be able to play those endless solos :)

“Tipping point” was ok, “i dont care” is pure shit, “let there be shred” isnt that great either.

Poor Dave has become so corny over the years, “mission to mars- i wanna be a astronaught, i wanna, i wanna, wanna.
I keep seeing you guys say how great the last album was and i didnt think it was that great, i love Megadeth but rarely ever have the desire to listen to TSTDATD.

Super Collider and Risk was shit albums, we gotta stop acting like Dave can do no wrong or that his lyrics arent goofy or why its ok for Dave to have silly nonsense lyrics and he gets a free pass but yet people can ignor it because its Dave.

I personally think most albums after Rust In Piece is lucky to have 5 really good songs. I will admit Dystopia had some great songs and most of the album is really solid, but its hard to listen to a full Megadeth album from start to finish in the last 20 yrs. I always hold out hope that we will get another truely great album but i guess not. I wont compare megadeth to other bands, just judge Megadeth to Megadeth.

At least MD are still making a real effort, but I must say Dave's vocals sound like a South Park version of himself.....😏

I thought the riffing was fun; sort of Kill Em All vibes. Lyrics were silly but it's Dave Mustaine.

Saw it last night. Fun song, Manowar type lyrics are always fun. Good shred, what’s not to like. Dave is getting old, good to see this. We’ll be missing it in a few years or less when we’re all playing tribute to his long career.

not as good as the first 2 songs but I still dig it..don't like the video but hey its easy to just not look.

Teemu plays 1000 solos then Dave plays one that is better than all Teemu's hehehehe

@Les Zombie agree! Arch Enemy is another good example, over the past years they have become a parody of themselves.

Now life imitates art.....

My problem is this : Dave’s voice is shot fr. Not his fault . I get it totally . Second . Put on countdown or Rust . The productions are better and BIGGER with more space between instruments . Is this because of analog use on the older albums ? To me it’s drastic af

Is this an actual song or just a bunch of Teemu guitar solo lesson excerpts edited together?
I love Teemus . He plays great usually . But so far I’m disappointed . Not what I was expecting . I like it still . But he’s holding back on this lol so this was lesson on restraint actually 🤣🤣🤣See kids . This kids is how you play with soul 🤌🏿

Didn't see this thread when I posted mine about this very song...the riffing and leads are incredible but those lyrics ! Embarassing. Written by a teen.

Let's see who's going to be the first to crank out youtube cover of this song to be the cool kid on the block. I swear it's a competition to see who can cover it first every time a new song comes out. Almost as if the youtubers who do that, don't listen to the song because they enjoy it, they only care about covering the solo then move and wait for the next new song to cover first. I dont have any respect for that. And that's not hating. No, I cannot play like that. It's just annoying to witness a "look at me" race
