The big difference between the Bogner 2x12 and Avatar 2x12 is that one says Bogner on the front, the other Avatar. :D Seriously, i owned them both and they are extremely similiar. The Avatar vintage 2x12's are made by Mojo anyway, they make great stuff.

The Bogner i owned was loaded with V30's and the Avatar had G12H30's so they did sound different. I would have to have them both loaded with the same speakers to give a fair judgement on tone differene. BUT, i am almost sure that they won't sound any different.

Trust me, the Avatar vintage 2x12 is top notch.

I played a horizontal Mesa yesterday in GC with a Mark III. I thought it sounded great, i even liked it better than the 4x12 Recto, that thing is too BOOMY sounding. I always see guys trashing V30's which i don't get, they sound fine in Mesa Cabs. Just ask Andy Timmons.

Like an speaker, it has to be in the right cab with the right amp. To think a V30 will work in every cab with every amp is just crazy.

I am not a huge V30 fan, but I have a mesa 112 with a V30 that sounds great....

An important question hasn't been asked. What amp(s) are you using this with?

I just prefer buying the Orange cab. I think it's the right choice.

I will be using it with my 5150 and my Egnater MOD50 which I should have in two months or so.
