Motley Crue was solid man for man. TL was a machine on drums, Sixx a great bottom end and writer, MM with the right mean tones and riffs, and uh, yeah, Neil was alright.

Sixx a great bottom end?

Mars does have a fat live tone (bit too much harmonizer for me). Bear in mind, Crue use TONS of backing tracks which include guitars.

Saw Crüe with Whitesnake opening ( Girls girls tour) White snake was awesome, Unfortunately Crüe was so loud we had to leave. Couldn't hear music was more noise. Wish we stayed and it was clearer would have liked to watch mic and nixx. Did see tommy in his cage doing the roll thing. Put up with about 6-7 songs. The best part was all the women walking around in Teddy's and Lingerie :D

Mick's tech must have been ready for the asylum keeping up with all this....

Well 2 SlO so 1 can be played while his tech dials in the other for the next song. The 3rd for back up. The rest is just over kill

Watched a concert last night on VH1 classic and thought Mic's live tone was great. That is all.
Watched the same concert. Good stuff for sure. Man he looks really bad though. Know his health is failing.

When did he ever look good? :D

The reason a lot of players have large rigs like that is because they are trying to capture tones from specific albums. Mick Mars career with Motley Crue dates back to '81 so there is a lot of ground to cover.

We gotta remember that he was rocking in the early 70s and partying pretty hard..then he had to live through the 80s and do the same thing. Surprised he's still with us.....

Crazy having that much shit.

I'd say. Crazy OVERKILL. And I love the Crue and Mars.

Large racks will not make your "unit" larger. And they also will not make you a better player. That rig typifies everything that went wrong during the late 80's/early 90's.

Just out of the camera's range in that pic is the other integral part of Mick's rig :
