Here is a Phase Three mod I did. Has a modern and vintage input, Metro loop, and depth control. I am working on a new mod I am calling the "Rage Mod" I should have it done soon. It will be sporting full clean channel, DC heaters, and solo boost with dual footswitch.

Hmm?? That "rage mod" your coming up with sounds kinda familiar??

From what I understand allot of guys can do a good mod but getting the lowend right is a big challenge. Not sure why.

Jason Killertone's orange fortin plexi

Scary thing is that it is back with Mike to make it better :scared:

I bet it does! I am ready to build another one, but 60 watts with 6550's!

I'd say that the new Freidman Steve Stevens signature amp is the ideal choice from my perspective. Steve has made it so it gets a Fender Twin clean, yet it gets all his eighties plexi tones that he is rightfully celebrated for.
If SS says that he is happy with this 100W amp then it is the one for my money. Plus built to Dave Freidman's exacting specs by the wizard of amp construction George Metropoulos, it doesn't get any better.
I am new at this party, not having been on this board for a few years, so the Fortin stuff I missed out on. Verderacer lives near me, so I will check out his Fortin modded amps soon.
There is a stage when a gained out plexi no longer has the characteristics that made it a plexi.
Marshall vintage plexi's are obviously killer, of course we all want a touch more gain with them, that is only natural.
Dave Friedman of RACKSYSTEMS is the man and I have become convinced that he really knows his shit as far as tones and mods are concerned.
Having just met Dave and Mark Day at the shop last Saturday on my whirlwind turnaround visit to LA, I was very impressed with the gear and knowledge that abounds there.
Hope to one day own the SS signature amp. Having heard Steve's Marsha amp live, I can attest that it has SS's best live tone in many years, just superb!!

Many mods can stack gain in a Marshall circuit, but controlling the compression and passing gain through to the power section where it is usable and articulate is what separates the pros from the hacks. Being able to keep the amp quiet without humm, hiss and annoying feedback is an art. Mike Fortin figured it out.
