Are the Wolfgang Specials any good? The one's that were made in the USA? Is the only difference the non arch top?
Yes i owned the gold top one and it was a outstanding player and sounding guitar.
I got it with case for $600 used.

These are made in the USA and should not be confused with the XP specials wolfgangs that were asian made.
The XP wolfs all had faux binding and photo tops available in three finishes and the USA specials were available in gold, black, creme, sunburst, purple.

I want to pick up one of these in the future. Different neck than the evh, but still comfy for my little sausage fingers, and I like the single knob. Theyre a lot of guitar (USA made on top of it) for around $600. A steal, really

the wolfgang I played had the smallest neck I have ever seen. Was so thin and narrow it was for me almost unplayable. It did sound fantastic but with a neck that small my hand would get sore quite quickly

Something is up with that particular wolfe...cuz every USA one I've played neck was like a baseball bat, round and thick.

Access is pretty cool. Buddy of mine had a mint red one he scored for $800. It was cherry. He ended up trading it for some custom strat. But when I played it, I was underwhelmed. My peavey HP specials sounded way better to me.

Give the HP specials a try. Split coil, big ass brass trem blocks, smaller neck than the Wolfe, but not thin. My old MM Luke had a thin neck.

Yeah I was wondering if it had been shaved because something just didn't "feel" right about it
