I have had my MC2 for over a year now and it is nothing short of fantastic. The part where these amps will literally make you crap your pants is when you play out live with them. There is something about the way they cut thru all the mayhem that is your bands mix and stand high and mighty above the mix. No Diezel Herbert action here! These babies slice thru the mix like no other amp I played or heard. Shortly after buying my Mc2, I mated it with 6x12s of wizard cabness (see pic).
Both cabs have the option of open back if you want it. I open the 2x12 on top and let the 4x12 handle the fecal shaking low end. Unreal sounding!
Every time I plug into this amp, I can hear my speakers saying "Oh Fuck". This amp makes the speakers in your cab move like sub box crankin "Turn down for what".
Expensive:yes
Sound unreal:hell yeah
Worth the outlay?: for me, yes, cause this amp has stopped my compulsive gas(amp wise)
Build Quality: mesmerizing. I pulled the chassis on the first day and just stared at it for hours in awe!
Effects Loop: one of the best I've ever experienced! My timeline in the loop sounds Godlike.
**when boosting the amp, try bringing the gain down to around 1230...and she likes certain OD's better than others. Maxon 808=ok, Cusak screamer V2=great, Bogner Wessex=great, Analogman King of Tone=the best.

I have a Bogner Wessex coming to try as a boost. The Koko boost also sounds fantastic with the MC. You're right about the OD808...kinda lifeless with it.

Yup. Of all the bands I saw live last summer, and this includes Joe Perry's mix of like 6 boutique amps with Aerosmith...the tone that haunts me was the Wizard tone with Pretty Reckless.....just perfect.

Speakers in those cabs LanierP?
Celestion Creamback 65 watters in both cabs. I have a video of my band doing Bark at the Moon with the MC2 and these cabs and pushing the amp with the Wessex. Sounds really good man. Dude in the band we opened for asked if he could use my rig for their set after hearing our 7 tunes. I looked over to stage left and saw his line 6 vetta head with cig burns and scratches all over it. I politely said "No can do". He had never heard of Wizard amps. He then said he's gotta get him one and asked how much they run. "A little north of the Vetta my man".

I will see if I can dig up the Bark video and post it on here.

Btw- I got the Creamback speakers at the recommendation of Scott at Vintage King. He said Rick thinks they mate up fantastic with the MC2. They sound great and I'm a V30 and Greenback guy. Also, because of the nature of the Wizard, break in period on the speakers was very short. (Those that have Wizards will understand)

  Screw a Variac just plug in the Wizard for a few hours.

So channel 1 doesnt get chunky its just like acdc rhythm? If thats the case does the boost on lead channel take it to another level or is it mild?

Rhythm channel has a good bit of gain and chunk with the rhythm boost engaged. Lead channel has chunk for days with or without the boost engaged. I run the gain around noon on the lead channel. Engaging the boost at that point is pretty awesome.

Here is a short sound sample of my Modern Classic with C transformer.. just straight iphone off the floor. lol

Most times, I just can't get through someone's iPhone clip, but damn... I am thinking that has got to be one badass amp! The playing certainly doesn't hurt either.

I think I might try out one of those irig mic's or figure out how to use a SM57 with my phone.. anyone try an irig?

Sounds nice! I can see how the Wizard is based on a Jubilee, as I hear some of the same sweetness in that clip that I get from my jubilee. But make no mistake, I love my Jubilee but those Wizards...damn...on a different level..what speakers do you have in that cab? Looks like my 79 Marshall cab..killer playing too!

I love the jubilee.. I sold off my SLO after getting a 2555. I just like that thing that marshall does! I'm just using vintage 30's in that cabinet...I play with a loud drummer and the V30's just pump loud and clean.

Funny..that was my exact dilemma. Had my 2nd SLO but was contemplating selling and grabbing another Jube..which is exactly what I did. Grabbed a little combo and had cash left over. Haven't played the 100 watter but for some reason I like the combo tone just a bit better than the 2550 heads. The combos don't have a choke..maybe that's the tonal difference? I run a 79 cab with G12 65s and another cab with V30s. Hook them both up and that combo sounds huge. But I still hope to grab a Wizard someday!
