NAD x 2 - Metropoulos SuperPlex and Friedman Butterslax

These 2 arrived Tuesday or Wednesday if I recall so made clips of both. Very different amps - iphone clips but whatever.

Are you running any boost in front of either amplifier? It sounded like you were running a boost in front of the metropolous but I could be wrong…

Actually, the Metropoulos was running into V30/Creamback 65's
the ButterSlax was all V30 - but yes, I like Orange cabs

yeah the camera angle on the Friedman shooting straight on didn't turn out as well. I need to try another one.

Yep, I agree with Jeff… Superplex sounds like it’s breathing and open ( lots of juice ) with tons of life and articulation where the butterslax sounds weighed down and congested a bit…

Right on. I haven't tried creambacks for metal, but I love them on my low gain amp. And the orange cabs are killer.

Boost was on and off on both the amp and overdrive pedal was clicked on/off. I need to do another one and detail when it’s on or off. You can easily tell when the amp’s boost is engaged.

Ahhhhh ok, Brother… Can you tell me at what point in the video is the superPlex full gain without exterior boost engaged? ( Full gain JUST from amp )

Edit- sounds like it’s full gain at 2:36 in the video but only briefly as you walk over and turn on an external boost…

Yep. He's got a couple of 100w chassis left and isn't ordering any more because of how expensive they are and how slow sales have been. He did say there's new 50w stuff coming though.

But I heard those Superplex's weren't even built by George. Apparently they're outsourced to some dude named Mike in Canada. I couldn't imagine spending that much $ on a Metropoulos amp if George didn't build it.

It sounds as though it’s just temporary though and I’d pretty much bet on it.
