Oh yeah paypal makes money of your 3% in the Camen Islands at about 3 million a week or more so dont think they are on your side do your homework..
Especially when you get a "We were unable to retrieve funds from the other persons acct..Sorry..

That sucks. I hope you get it resolved and he gets you your money back asap and not in freakin' payments.
It really sucks that there are people like this because they ruin the "fun" of buying/selling/trading gear for the 90% of us that are legit.
I think you should share his username on here and HC so no one else gets screwed but that's your call. I'd also file a police report if I were you and let him know you did it. That might speed along the process of getting your money back.

Just the fact that the guy didn't report the theft to the police is just ridiculous and proves it's a scam.I say out the guy.His life needs to be hard right now,not yours

I don't care what the guy says - he scammed you. If by chance the amp actually did get stolen (I highly doubt it because of his not filing a police report, unless he had some other reason that he didn't want police attention, if you catch my drift), that's not your problem. He should pay you back immediately, whether he has to beg, borrow, or steal it. Again, not your problem.
"$100-200/week" means $100/week if you're lucky. You trust this guy who can't pay his real bills to pay YOU back long-term?
I'd start with a call to his local police department and explain that he stole $2650 from you and go from there.

I would tell the 'seller' to go and get an advance on his credit card and pay you back NOW or you're going to the cops. Let him pay them back $100-$200 a month. No way in hell would I ever agree to that.

Man I hope you get that worked out Will. That is weird not filing a police report. Should be covered under his homeowners/ renters insurance or possibly the auto insurance shouldn't it?

Just to let you know , anything over $250 is considered Larceny. I'm sure I can speak for many people here. I don't think any of us will leave an amp worth that kind of money in a car and exit that car for any amount of time. I hope you get the money issue squared away. It sounds strange that the guy already spent your money before he sent out your amp. one to two hundred a week is unacceptable, he should sell something off to get you your money.

Don't screw around with this. Call the police immediately and file a report. Copy all of your emails you have had with him. File a claim in small claims court. It will cost you $50. He will receive a subpoena to report to YOUR city. Do not waste time, do it today and file the claim tomorrow. I am going through the same thing.

Thanks for all the additional info guys. It's a big pain in the ass because I have deadlines on 9/15, after 9/15 I am going to be all over it. But right now my priority is to get my work done which sucks, sitting here at work right now .
Also I initially threatened to call the police and here is the answer I got. How true is this?

I know it sucks, but the longer you wait the worse case you will have. And that's not true (the out of state thing) Out this guy NOW. Who is it....maybe someone can get something done for you.
