Man I hope you get that worked out Will. That is weird not filing a police report. Should be covered under his homeowners/ renters insurance or possibly the auto insurance shouldn't it?

Yeah thats the weird thing that came up as suspicious. Who wouldn't file a police report after losing a amp worth $2600-$3k

Thanks for all the additional info guys. It's a big pain in the ass because I have deadlines on 9/15, after 9/15 I am going to be all over it. But right now my priority is to get my work done which sucks, sitting here at work right now :aww: .

Also I initially threatened to call the police and here is the answer I got. How true is this?

"go ahead and call the police, your out of state, california laws dont pertain to NY."

I know it sucks, but the longer you wait the worse case you will have. And that's not true. Out this guy NOW. Who is it....maybe someone can get something done for you.

I guess making it public would put more pressure for him to make things right. I gave him yesterday to see if he was up for his word to make initial payment and he hasn't. Here is the info I have on him. I still have all my email / pm logs.

RT User name is: jayherbie
HCAF user: jayjaytuner

jason jansen

Ball is in his park now to make things right.

Yikes, maybe not his addy and phone #...that might come back on you...I meant just his screen name and name....

If you do a quick search of his name he makes his phone # pretty public. But I'll leave those out

ny huh, do we need to send someone to pay him a visit ?

I'm sorry to hear of this! I go through paranoia every time I do a transaction for this reason!! Hopefully the guy will come through and if not maybe a few fellow RT members live close to him and can help him make up his mind to do the right thing!! :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim:

I don't care what the guy says - he scammed you. If by chance the amp actually did get stolen (I highly doubt it because of his not filing a police report, unless he had some other reason that he didn't want police attention, if you catch my drift), that's not your problem. He should pay you back immediately, whether he has to beg, borrow, or steal it. Again, not your problem.

"$100-200/week" means $100/week if you're lucky. You trust this guy who can't pay his real bills to pay YOU back long-term?

I'd start with a call to his local police department and explain that he stole $2650 from you and go from there.

+10000

Sorry to hear this Will. I was just checking in and I read this. I don't need to tell you this but something sounds fishy to me. If anything got lifted from my car, I would have filed a report pronto plus I would have scanned the report in and sent you a copy. On another note, when I sell and amp to a person I never spend a dime of anyones money until I know that A) the amp got there safely and B) the person is happy. Somethings not kosher here for sure IMHO. i hope you get your $$ back and I'm bummed for you.

...exactly what Ralph says here. I hope it works out in your favor. That sucks Will!!

yeah needless to say i would be super pissed. i agree with everyone here.

im sure if you explained the situation to the authorities they could help you out man. i mean i dont think they will blow off an honest musician doing the right thing and getting 100% scammed/screwed.

i just hope you get your money back, and then i hope his name gets plastered on every single musicians forum on the internet.

randalls/metro/RT/TGP/HC/ etc

the small claims court thing is worth pursuing, he can be made to come to your State. but the positive thing about is that if he misses some court dates, then an arrest warant can be issued. also, not sure, but may have to find somebody to serve him the court papers?

would also suggest contacting the FBI and see if the guys in your nearest office are bored enough to work on this. sometimes the local cops don't seem to care about this kind of stuff.

I filed a complaint on here already http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx.

Will give the mine and his local police department a call tomorrow morning. What a big waste of time.

He's from Upstate New York

The dude is full of crap, or just stupid. Either way, he needs to shit $2650, or file felony charges.

The fact that he already spent your money is total bullshit. Hopefully things turn out for the better.

Small claims is for civil matters, unless this guy can prove otherwise, I would file criminal charges

Wow, sorry to hear this Wil. I would file a police report. Times are tuff right now. Maybe the guy was legit, but people are hurting for money and seem to come up with new ways to con people. I feel his response by implying he is untouchable being out of state, confirms your instincts. He scammed you. F&^% that mother$@%$ Take your time and be patient. Write everything down as it happened with all supporting documentation and file a report.
