Need help with country / blues licks.

I have been trying to open up my playing a little more. My shred type playing is getting better but I would like to be able to do some more country, blues, bluegrass and southern rock type licks so that I don't have to rely on a buddy of mine to do as much of the lead playing on my recordings.

When playing a G chord, solo in your usual E pentatonic, it'll give an instant country feel. You can transpose this easily to other chords by soloing three frets lower than your usual location. I show this to seasoned players who comment that they've been playing for "X" years and never have learned something so incredibly simple. Your welcome.

....In other words, pentatonic major= 3 steps from the pentatonic minor. ie: e minor pent is also g major pent..Learn em all,ie; f#minor= a major,etc.etc...study,lots of double stops,banjo rolls,and bends.Theres so much more from there...
