That was a mistake, because you might have convinced people who didn't search it out and listen to it

eeeesh that first uncontrolled vibrato at 22 seconds in is ROUGH

Someone get michael kiske and geoff tate to grab that twink and teach him how to control his vibrato on the high notes

Honestly, it's neither great nor horrible. He's got a few spots with pitch problems for sure. I thought the lack of vocal comps and/or pitch correction was an odd choice given the presumably sizable budget.

But we have see MUCH worse examples recently from vocalists beloved by large segments of this forum.

So i agree, we see much worse

But still, god damn do some more takes if you're gonna try to sing like that - super high pitched vocals are really difficult to pull off, and when you don't pull it off, it's really grating and obnoxious (like this song)

There are also vocalists beloved by the forum who are much, much better than this bullshit, and I can think of a half dozen off the top of my head who he should probably get lessons from - besides Michael Kiske and Geoff Tate, who I already mentioned, DC Cooper, Klaus Meine, Timo Kotipelto, and a million others jump to mind immediately

I actually liked their first album but my buddy relentlessly made fun of them.

People are not comparing them to Zeppelin as much as they are saying they are a blatant rip off. If you watch their mannerisms and those of licks, etc., their Dad definitely groomed them to ape that style.

The guitar player does that same lean back that Page did, the singer shows his bare chest and holds the microphone, does moves like Robert Plant and even their younger brother plays bass like John Paul Jones and miraculously also is an accomplished organ player. If you watch early vids, they are chasing that.

I purposely refused to post the link in my OP so people would have to find it for themselves.

I didn't expect as many doing so, however...besides CrotchBoi & Kirk

those beloved vocalists here are in their 70s or older so they get cut some slack...

except Vince Neil.


actually, I heard an isolated vocal of Vince from his prime, and it was strong, powerful and in tune. Sad his voice deteriorated so much; like DLR.

The answer is they are copying the mars volta. Especial the vocals and vocal melodies.
