Not sure I see the point and need in the marketplace for this amp. I'm starting to feel as if Mesa is putting out way too many products. Same with Bogner. Stop with trying to reinvent the wheel and stick with what you're good at guys!

Ed

Shut up man. It's going to be badass. Mesa Boogie's one of the best.

For my live gigging needs, this amp has the exact feature set I've been looking for, Mesa or not. 50w, EL34, 3 channels, reverb, solo boost, MIDI. I have to assume they're listening to their customers and striving to tick all the wish-list boxes. I'd been considering the JP2C, but the Mark amps aren't really what I go for tonally and I'm not a huge fan of 6L6s. This one on the other hand...definitely going to check it out.

Single Recto replacement???

7 preamp tubes... I'm guess the 12AT7 is to drive/recover the reverb signal... and thankfully no rectifier tubes. Yahoo!

I talked with Randy about this amp a few months ago.... It's not a Rectifier or Marshall type amp. But I am sure people are going to compare them.

There is other amps he is working on that are going to be simpler than this one.

So this one is not Royal atlantic replacement
Did he comment on what sounds the amp was going for more modern
Bogner Uber ???

12AT7 could be the clean channel tube. They've done a few amps with two "V1" tubes, one for the clean signal, one for the dirty channels.

No

How much he changed it since then I have no idea. I would be speculating.

I'm looking forward to seeing the details with everyone else.

Can't say that I love it from demos

Sounds pretty average

It lets you use 6V6 as well as EL34 or 6L6. Cool! Clean and lead channel sounds awesome. Channel 2 sounded a bit dark in the demo. Hard to tell from just one demo. I'm gonna buy one definitely.

Hits stores tomorrow. Heads in stock $1799. Combo's in a week at $1999.

3 sets of assigned power tubes - 34's, 6L6's, and 6V6's.
Onboard cab clone
MIDI

One hell of a deal really for a mountain of tone variety. That djent clip was shit though for channel 3. Fuck that shit.

wow, great deal!

Well I've been strongly considering a Mesa of some sort for my next amp and the "TIGHT, FAST ATTACK AND GUT-PUNCHING MIDS" part of their website marketing got my attention.

Looks cool on paper, and seems like a boat load of versatility for the price.

Sounds ok from the Mesa demo video, but I'd like to sit down with one and see what it can offer in a metal context outside the djenty stuff in that video. I'd like to rip some thrash and deathmetal riffs through that little bastard :D
