I don't mind the smaller pickguard models visually, but I haven't been digging the feel of the neck since they started offering standards with that pickguard. I really wanted a white standard with the small pickguard but after playing one I'll need to find an older batwing standard.

I have been a superstrat guy all my life and then the SG comes along and changes my life, as I know it. I want them all.

Isn't that weird how that happens? I remember when I was first starting playing guitar in 85', I wanted every guitar to be strat-shaped, bright yellow with "Sunset Strip" and a naked girl painted on it with a huge tremolo, blinking lights, etc. The only rock guy during that time that was playing Les Pauls exclusively was Jeff Watson from Night Ranger. There were a few others obviously but I didn't associate them with Les Pauls. Then two years later I heard "Appetite For Destruction" and blew my mind and tried a Les Paul and fell in love. Then I started getting back into Black Sabbath and wanted an SG.

Don't get me wrong, I still want a Charvel San Dimas but would be perfectly happy playing those other guitars with such a history.
