The cool thing about the original is that the clean boost side knob also controls the level of the mid boost side. Or something like that anyway. The higher the clean boost knob is set, the harder the mid boost side is pushed.

Interesting. The koko has been highly regarded for a long time. Does it offer as much boost in forms of DBs or is it primarily the tone that it pushes the amp into? Not doubting , does it bring more gain? Thanks

I am surprised at how much gain the original koko adds to the signal. It REALLY saturates my MCII if set to do so. TONS of added gain!

That said, I still think I like the Duncan 805 more most of the time. The Koko is a bit rounder/smoother & the 805 sharper/tighter and has control over bass, treble, and mids.

All I know is mine is never over 9 o’clock but is always necessary

Mine isn’t in all the time, but when it is, it’s at 9:00 as well. I really only use the mid-boost side.

Yeah I take that back, mine is always on when using main rhythm tone and yep, mid boost with toggle to far left position
