Nuno is just f'ing sick.....

Extreme just came out with a new live DVD, must have for Nuno fans.

Sadly it's an Extreme DVD though. I would have preferred a DramaGods/Nuno solo DVD. I'll still pick it up though.

I've been a huge Nuno fan since I first heard "Kid Ego" all those years ago. I've been able to catch him live twice, and the guy is one of the most gifted players I've ever witnessed!

Incredible, superhuman technique, but with a big, fat, NASTY sense of groove that separates him from everyone else, his rhythmic, almost percussive style almost reminds me of a supercharged Eddie Van Halen with even more funk.

If you haven't picked up the new "Take Us Alive" yet, you're totally missing out. In addition to Nuno being a freak, the whole band is great; Gary is a fantastic frontman and both Nuno and Pat's harmony vocals sound amazing.

Catching them on the last tour with another one of my all-time favorite bands, King's X, last year is already in my top 5 shows of all time.

I agree with you; Nuno's playing is amazing, and I actually prefer him greatly to EVH, tbh. I know I'll get flamed for that, but I prefer Nuno's groove and sense of playing style.

Fig (the DG drummer) is the drummer for Extreme now, and IMO is one of the reasons DG was so good; so maybe they'll do something again down the road. I know Cherone is a more accomplished singer, I just prefer Nuno's voice. Grittier, more soulful IMO.

Yes! A Nuno thread! See, it is worth looking back a few pages in the active topics. Nuno is in my top 3 favorite players of all time! I think his style has had the most influence on my playing. The guy has a right hand like no other!

I have a Video tape of one of his concerts when he was doing the solo stuff and lead vocals.
Guy has some chops and a good voice as well!

Exactly!! Not only is he a monster player, he can sing his ass off!! Saw Extreme play years ago at First Avenue in Minneapolis. VERY good live!
