There is obvious a much deeper problem than tan pants. Power amp overdrive over preamp distortion is a real threat. Someone has to lay it down.

it can get tweed, brownface and blackface tones - the power scaling and gain range is very wide

It's cream actually. Definitely worth checking out. It kind of covers the tweed and blackface Deluxe type stuff. But has a unique voice. Warm. I think the 100 watt Blackbird and cab is a lot of it. It's actually fairly versatile for a simple amp.
Plugged into a 4x12 it can get pretty crunchy. But maintains a vintage voice. The multi watt besides the volume changes the voice and feel. It's capable of a fair amount of gain. The cleans and point of break-up is where it shines.
