My dad's a discerning gentleman, so he has pants in all kinds of colours. Unlike the TGP brigade, who lets face it, are sartorially challenged.

I have a LP tweed twin, so I admit I can be caught in tan pants (they're from work though I swear!)

I put in low headroom tubes, and pulled one of the rectifier tubes and it slams now, like I can do EJish tones, and even get a stoner doom vibe out of it.

I will say as far as tan pants, if New Balance shoes are worn with said tan pants, no amount of chromaticism or diminished arpeggios over a I IV V tune can justify the tan/New Balance combo.

You'd be better off wearing a dragon suit onesie with crocs IMO, and that ain't no picnic either.

While jorts plus New Balance are an American tradition going back decades, I don't think anyone suggested tan pants and New Balance are an acceptable combination even if you have a PRS wood libary or murphy labs Gibson.

LOL. I know I had some jorts when I was a teenager. I think I got a strong goofy white dude gene in my bloodline.

It's frankly amazing that somehow I managed to reproduce.
