Amen.

I'm listening to Ghost Brigade right now. Kinda similar band from a similar country up there.

The first 5 or 6 albums are complete perfection. Every single one of those albums has excellent shit. "In Mist She Was Standing" off of Orchid, "Black Rose Immortal" off Morningrise, "Demon of the Fall" off MAYH, "Face of Melinda" off Still Life, basically everything off of Blackwater Park but especially "The Leper Affinity"

They've been relatively hit or miss, since, but still have a ton of great music - both heavier and softer stuff both. Deliverance had some bangers. Heritage they jumped the shark a bit.

It's always awesome talking about bands that don't suck on RT, nice

They really did change with Heritage, but every album since still has a few hidden gems. I love the new album, it really grows on you.

Yeah there's some gems in there - honestly in all the albums. Some kind of blah tracks too, but the highlights are there.

That first run of a half dozen records was just fucking sublime though

Double Amen. And I love Ghost Brigade, I used to be really big into them. Grain is an awesome somber song

2 masterpiece albums, though I really dig Watershed and Deliverance just as much.

Damnation is up there as well. I could listen to everything from Still Life to Watershed on loop. I actually really like The Last Will and Testament. Just depends on whether I want prog-metal Opeth or 70s prog Opeth.

Basically perfect until Watershed. I still like tracks from the newer “era” too but Blackwater Park is one of my top albums ever

Opeth are truly a very unique band .

Love this live version !

Loved these older live videos like this one and another I found of Drapery Falls back in the early 2000s. That's what hooked me on the band. I also loved the lineup of Mikael Akerfeldt, Peter Lindgren, Martin Mendez and Martin Lopez.

Opeth is such a great band. Blackwater Park and Ghost Reveries are my favorite albums from them. I've wore out their Live At Royal Albert Hall dvd too lol. I've also seen them live a few times. They are one of the tightest bands I've seen.

Like most, I've found everything from Heritage and on a bit hit and miss. They have moments/songs on each of the albums that are cool, but the albums as a whole come off a bit boring. The only exception to that for me is The Last Will and Testament. I think that one is great. I feel like that one really married that 70's prog meets Opeth vibe in a complete and interesting way.
