i heard The Twighlight Is My Robe on Napster in 1999 and was a super fan for the next 10 years. I've seen them in a few different cities, about a dozen times, and have an akward photo of Mikeal and i from early 2000 :ROFLMAO: Watershed was fantastic, but they started to kinda of loose me after that. They had an impressive run of killer material in the 90'sand 2000's. They won the respect of pretty much everyone in the scene very quickly.

I love Opeth so much. I saw them live a couple months ago and I was blown away at how tight they are and how good the new drummer is. The only thing I dislike about them is when I get a riff stuck in my head and I can't remember which damn song it's from.

If you guys dig Opeth-style stuff you should check out this Anciients album. Combines all the acoustics, prog rock and death metal.

Opeth - Still Life is still my favourite album of there's ... struggle with anything after Damnation

you will find Akerfeldt brilliant all over again if you start looking at their guitar tabs. Hes always written some very unorthodox riffs for a metal band.

That's what I like about them. Complex chords and lines and not overusing the chugs. He strikes a great balance. I feel like I also get a real look into his playing by studying his acoustic tunes. Brialliant writer and player!

Martin Méndez was a big influence on my bass playing early on in my career. His subtle grooves define the band for a lot of parts.
