But, totally understand what you did and it is totally justified. That guy obviously has no clue how to pack an amp if it was moving around in the box.
One of my first ebay purchases back in 2001 was a Peavey Supreme 160. It arrived at my door with no packing materials whatsover, just a shipping label stuck to the amp. Not sure if the packing material was torn off during shipping or if that is the way the seller actually shipped it, but the amp worked well so I just rolled with it.
