Yeah... I am definitely an eq in loop player. Recently grabbed a paraeq, but still go back to my trusty old MXR 10 band. I'll try several ODs. V30s are next on my list.[/quote]

V30s are a must if you play metal. They being out all the right qualities...tight low end, upper mids emphasis and reduce the very top end where you would normally get fiz. Mesa oversized 2x12 or 4x12 sound like they are made for this amp!

I have also tried and now avoid the original Peavey cab with Sheffield speakers, as well as Celestion G12T-75 & GK12K-100. These 3 speakers bring out the fizz and have scooped mids....poor definition there. Only my opinion though.

yeah i thought there was no difference in any of the the versions

The 5150 and 6505 are the same but the 5150 II and the 6505+ while the pair also being identical are different.

Identical circuit different cosmetics.

I think i phrased that wrong.

5150=6505

5150II=6505+

Idemtical.

I'll have to grab a few :thumbsup:

No matter what else I have had...Deliverance, 2 Mark IVs, Mark V, KSR Orthos, Rectos, Laneys...I always come back to these dumb Peavey 5150s. I still have a combo and a 5152. They hold up to anything else out there, IMO.
